Extended access confirmed through 2027
Originally set to close after the 2025 season, the Arendal Cruise Terminal for larger vessels will now remain accessible through the 2027 season, due to an adjusted timeline for the construction work that will take place.
Please note that the centrally located America Cruise Terminal, just 2 km from the city centre, remains fully open and ready to welcome guests, unaffected by upcoming construction work.

Cruise season 2025 in Gothenburg
To date, 65 calls are booked with nearly 100,000 cruise tourists expected, mainly from Germany, USA and the UK. The season started with AIDAmar’s arrival, a 253-meter vessel with a capacity of up to 2,600 passengers, calling the Arendal Cruise Terminal. Soon after, Le Champlain from the French cruise line Ponant became the first ship to call the America Cruise Terminal, offering guests a full day to explore the historical quarters of Gothenburg, located just 100 meters from the terminal.
Later in the season, Norwegian Star will be the longest vessel of the year with 294 meters, calling on October 1. The highest number of passengers is expected on board Emerald Princess, with a capacity of up to 3,100 guests. Emerald Princess will also be the largest vessel, gross tonnage measured, to arrive during the year. The season continues until December 14, concluding with the final call from Spirit of Discovery, a 236-meter vessel operated by Saga Cruises, known for its tailored offering to senior British travelers.
