Port of Gothenburg take the lead of European ports

13:24 - 03 Apr 2017 / News

Edvard Molitor, Senior Manager Environment at Gothenburg Port Authority, has been appointed as the new chair of the European Seaports Organisations (ESPO) Sustainability Committee. The position means that the Port of Gothenburg will take the lead in sustainability issues at European ports.

I feel honoured to be appointed to chair one of the most important fora for sustainability issues within the port and shipping industry. It is crucial for the future that shipping develops in a responsible way. There is a lot that we can be proud of although a great deal remains to be done as shipping can and must reduce its emissions,” said Edvard Molitor, who will chair his first members’ meeting tomorrow in Brussels.

Edvard Molitor has been Senior Manager Environment at Gothenburg Port Authority since 2014. He has many years of experience pursuing maritime environmental and climate issues from his time at the European Maritime Safety Agency, the Swedish Coast Guard and the research and development company SSPA.
