The Port of Gothenburg is internationally renowned for its investment in rail shuttles. The track leading to the port is used daily by 70 freight trains, 25 of which are shuttles that operate to and from cities throughout Sweden and Norway. There are several other intermodal terminals at the port, including the Arken Combiterminal where trailers and containers switch quickly and smoothly between different modes of transport.
Gothenburg is a meeting point for all the main European highways: the E6 to Oslo or Copenhagen, the E20 to the Stockholm region, or the E45 to Karlstad and the northern parts of the country.
