Cruise Terminals

With two cruise terminals and two cruise quays, the port is well-equipped to receive cruise ships of all sizes. The cruise season in Gothenburg covers the whole year as the port is always free of ice.

Our terminals

America Cruise Terminal

It was from here, more than 100 years ago, that the first liners departed for North America and they continued to do so until 1975. This beautiful and historic setting revived 2018 and is now the central cruise terminal in Gothenburg.

Arendal cruise terminal

Located at the quayside is the impressive 6,000 square metre Volvo Museum. There is also a cafeteria and a shop that sells souvenirs, postcards and other items. It takes around 20 minutes by taxi or bus into the city centre.

Skandia Port

Skandiahamnen can receive cruise ships of any size and this is where the very largest ships often dock. It is just 9 km from Skandiahamnen into the centre of Gothenburg and it takes around 15-20 minutes by bus. Guests cannot walk around independently here due to ISPS- regulations. However, tour and shuttlebuses can enter the ISPS area and park right next to the ship. Taxis and local buses are available at the gate. Guests can take the free in-port shuttle bus to the gate

Älvsborgs Port

Älvsborgs Port can receive cruise ships up to 285 meters and it is just 9 km from Älvsborgs Port into the centre of Gothenburg takes around 15-20 minutes by bus. Guests cannot walk around independently here due to ISPS-regulations. However, tour and shuttlebuses can enter the ISPS area and park right next to the ship. Taxis and local buses are available at the gate. Guests can take the free in-port shuttle bus to the gate.
