Älvsborg Ro/ro AB

Älvsborg Ro/ro AB is a vital link in the Swedish export and import chain. Unitised rolling goods of every kind are loaded and unloaded with the aid of some 300 employees. Apart from trailers, large volumes of trucks and containers are handled. Vessels to and from Belgium, the UK and Finland call at the terminal regularly. The Terminal has around 25 calls per week.

APM Terminals Gothenburg has the widest range of routes in Scandinavia. Around 15 shipping lines use the terminal, with 24 visits per week. APM Terminals Gothenburg at the Port of Gothenburg is the only terminal in Sweden that has the capacity to receive and handle these colossal oceangoing vessels. There is also direct routes served by oceangoing vessels to and from Asia and North America.

Gothenburg Energy Port

Gothenburg Energy Port is the largest energy port in the Nordic Region and the site of several refineries and storage companies.

Each year, 2,500 tankers put into the Gothenburg Energy Port and half of the crude oil that enters Sweden does so via the Port of Gothenburg. Around 20 million tonnes of oil and other energy products are handled.

Stena Line

Stena Line is one of the world's largest ferry operators with 32 vessels and 19 routes in northern Europe. The head office is in Gothenburg, where the ferries are a very familiar sight as they are moored at the inner harbours. The central location is appreciated by the almost 1.5 million passengers who travel to or from Gothenburg each year using Stena Line. The combined passenger and freight ferries operate regularly on two routes – one to Frederikshavn in Denmark and one to Kiel in Germany. All ferries shut down their engines when they are berthed in Gothenburg and use environmentally labelled shoreside power.
