Vinga Conference
Vinga – a unique venue for meetings
Time to plan a conference, kick-off or social gathering? We can offer a unique venue for conferences, customer meetings and parties with the ocean as a backdrop, just one hour by boat from Gothenburg.
Out on the island on which the Vinga Lighthouse is located, made famous by the many songs of the Swedish singer and composer Evert Taube, the Port of Gothenburg has run a conference facility since the middle of the 1980s in the former lighthouse keeper's village. The Port of Gothenburg stepped in when plans were announced to demolish "unnecessary" buildings and instead it carefully renovated the old dwellings and outhouses.
We provide assistance with contacts to arrange transport to and from the island as well as refreshments. The latter can take the form of anything from a simple sandwich and a beer to a full dinner. A good way to start the evening is in the sauna, where the windows offer a magnificent view of the sea.
If you want to enhance your visit even further, we can arrange a guided tour of the well-known Vinga Lighthouse, the childhood home of Evert Taube and now a museum. Or why not arrange a beautiful quiz walk as the sun sets over the sea?

Vinga in short
Vinga is the most westerly point of Gothenburg, around 10 nautical miles from the centre of the city. The island is about 1 km in an east-west direction and half a kilometre north-south.
The flat, U-shaped rocky island has been a nature reserve since March 1987. The present lighthouse, 29 metres high and build of porphyrite, was first brought into use in 1890, and has been fully automated since 1974.
Evert Taube grew up on Vinga, where his father Carl Gunnar was the lighthouse keeper. The lighthouse has been mentioned in several of his songs.
